Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), based in Pune, is an autonomous institute for basic and applied research in life sciences. The current research and development activities of ARI span across all areas of life sciences spread over six different themes, viz. biodiversity and paleobiology, bioenergy, bioprospecting, developmental biology, genetics and plant breeding, and nanobioscience.
