Biology Teaching Fellow Positions

Azim Premji University is looking for two Teaching Fellows (one broadly trained in Ecology and the other in Molecular Biology) to assist faculty in the Undergraduate Biology Program at the School of Liberal Studies, Azim Premji University, Bangalore.

At the School of Liberal Studies, the faculty are committed and excited to enhance student learning through innovative pedagogy and research. Typical class size is small (25−40), which helps facilitate small group discussions in the classroom, and also provides attention to individual students. 

The primary role of the Teaching Fellow will be to facilitate tutorials, mentoring students with their research projects, help faculty in developing and running labs. The undergraduate program is fully residential, and some of the tutorials/​discussions may take place in the evenings. Fellows will be involved with one or more of the following courses during the semester: Introductory Biology, Evolutionary Biology, Biostatistics, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cell and Developmental Biology). 

This position allows Fellows to explore innovative pedagogical practices, engage with a socio-economically diverse student cohort, and is suited for someone who is interested in working or pursuing higher studies in the future. Candidates who are motivated and interested in teaching and research are invited to apply. Successful candidates will have an MSc degree in Biology, Life Sciences or related fields. Appropriate remuneration will be provided.This is a full time two year non-renewable position.
