The In-vitro Diagnostics and Bioscience Research Group of Siemens Healthineers Technology Center in Bangalore, India is looking to recruit candidate who has a keen interest and passion to do interdisciplinary research and development in the areas of computational modeling and biology. This person will be involved in hands-on development of computational methods for analyzing genomic data. The ideal candidate would combine knowledge of bioinformatics and genomic analysis with a strong interest in development of computational methods to understand clinical data.

Qualification

Masters degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or another related discipline with a substantial omics data analysis part. PhD is a plus.

Experience

  • You have been successfully working with microbial high throughput data for at least 3 years. Demonstration of skills in form of publications is a plus.
  • Experience in metagenomics and analysis of different sequencing technology data is preferred. Experience with other high-throughput analysis methods is a plus.
  • Fluent in analysis of biological data in R, Python or Perl or similar scientific programming environment. Experience in Java or C is a plus.
  • Knowledge to implement databases and you have extensive experience in working with microbial Knowledge Databases
  • Ability to work and administrate Linux-based OS is a plus
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and a good understanding of business contexts and markets — ideally with initial experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong problem solving ability & analytical skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative, self-directed, and a team player with an ability to take ownership and accountability of assigned tasks
